- The Gecko salt water disinfection system cleans your pool completely without chemical additives. Salt is added to the water during filling and our fully automatic disinfection system breaks down the salt when needed and produces bromine, which has a disinfecting effect just like chlorine. Bromine reacts with organic components and decomposes back into salt. This is a natural process that also protects the environment.
